Robert Vadra new symbol of VVIP culture

Feb 8, 2012 | Pratirodh Bureau

A political storm is brewing after the election commission tansferred the poll officer who stopped the motorcycle rally of Robert Vadra in Amethi.

The IAS officer Pawan Sain had stopped the convoy of Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi and a Congress campaigner,  in Amethi on February 6 for violating the model code of conduct.

District Magistrate J P Gupta said that there were more vehicles against the permitted number of ten bikes in his convoy.

Sain had also ordered filing of an FIR against the local Congress candidate in the assembly poll.

The courageous officer who dared to stop the Vadra\\\’s rally  was transferred as the deputy commissioner of South Goa few hours after the incident, but the decision was finally scrapped on Tuesday evening following the media outcry.

The credibility of the election commission is now being stained as it firstly ordered the transfer of Sain and later cancelled it\\\’s order following massive criticism.

His transfer was interpreted as an outcome of his action against Vadra.

The election commission first sought to explain that his transfer had nothing to do with the incident and it was a routine affair.

However, following the huge controversy, the election commission without wasting much time took a U-turn and cancelled the transfer order of Sain.

The election commission said that they have cancelled Sain\\\’s transfer as he was doing a good job in Amethi.

Although, the illogical justifications of election commission does not answer the question that why did it transfer the poll officer at all.
