Kharge Slams Modi Govt, Says Orchestrated Hate Foisted By BJP
Aug 4, 2023 | Pratirodh BureauTaking a swipe at the Modi government, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said that in the last five years, only 12.2 lakh formal jobs had been created. He added that unimaginable unemployment, painful price rise and orchestrated hate foisted by the BJP has resulted in this ‘disaster’ of a situation.
In a tweet, Kharge said, “India under Modi government has added only 12.2 Lakh formal Jobs in past 5 years. That means an average of just 2,44,000 jobs per year. We are not inventing this figure. It is the Modi government which created this narrative that EPF Regular Contributors = Creation of Formal Jobs. The EPF data corroborates this.”
Kharge added that the BJP promised 2 crore jobs per year and that translates into 18 crore jobs that could have been created in 9 years. “Our youth is staring at a dark future. No wonder, there is anger and violence on the streets. The BJP has miserably failed to provide employment.”
Kharge said further, “Unimaginable unemployment, painful price rise and orchestrated hate foisted by BJP has resulted in this DISASTER of a situation. For the survival of our poor and middle class, the BJP needs to be thrown out of power. India has had enough.” Kharge is the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha; he also attached a report to back his claims.
In the past as well, the opposition Congress has been critical of the government over price rise, unemployment and several other issues. The grand old party has been attacking the government over its handling of the economy and alleging that it has failed to generate employment.
