Govt Sets Up Trust For Ram Temple In Ayodhya

Feb 5, 2020 | Pratirodh Bureau

“We expect PM Modi to attend at least tomorrow’s all-party meeting,” Congress Rajya Sabha MP and general-secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh told reporters on Wednesday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said his government has set up a trust for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. The trust has been named Sri Ram Janambhoomi Tirath Kshetra, which will oversee the development and management of the temple, Modi told Parliamentarians in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

In November, the Supreme Court had asked the government to form a trust, after it had ordered the construction of a Ram temple at the decades-old disputed land in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.

“We have readied a scheme for the development of Ram temple in Ayodhya. A trust has been formed, it is called Sri Ram Janambhoomi Tirath Kshetra. My government has decided that under the Ayodhya law, the authorised land, which is nearly 67.703 acres and has an inner and outer courtyard, we will transfer it to the newly-constituted Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra,” Modi said.

Modi also said people of all religions live in peace and harmony in India and the message of the government – Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas – highlights the spirit of this message.

“There are people of all communities in India, whether they are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis or Jains – we are all part of a larger family. All members of this family develop, they live in happiness, they are healthy, the country prospers – with this sentiment my government is going ahead with the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” he said.

Modi said people were mature in their faith and conduct after the verdict of the apex court on the Ayodhya dispute.

“On 9 November, after the judgment on Ram Janmabhoomi, all citizens expressed faith in democratic institutions and gave an example of maturity. Today, I in the Parliament praise the conduct of citizens. Our culture, traditions teach us the world is our guest and prosperity for everyone and with this gives us hope to go ahead,” Modi added.
