नागरिकता संशोधन कानून के खिलाफ केरल विधान सभा द्वारा प्रस्ताव पास किये जाने के बाद अब कांग्रेस शासित पंजाब विधानसभा में इस कानून के खिलाफ प्रस्ताव लाया गया है. केरल की तरह पंजाब सरकार भी विधानसभा में संशोधित नागरिकता कानून (सीएए) के खिलाफ प्रस्ताव लेकर आई है. पंजाब की कैप्टन सरकार में कैबिनेट मंत्री ब्रह्म महिंद्रा ने विधानसभा में सीएए के खिलाफ प्रस्ताव पेश किया. ताजा सूचना के अनुसार महिंद्रा की ओर से पेश प्रस्ताव पर विधानसभा में चर्चा के बाद यह प्रस्ताव पारित हो गया है.
कैप्टन सरकार की ओर से पेश इस प्रस्ताव में कहा गया है कि सीएए का प्रारूप देश के संविधान और इसकी मूल भावना के खिलाफ है.
यह देश के कुछ धर्म विशेष के लोगों की पहचान को खत्म करने की कोशिश है. इस एक्ट के जरिए प्रवासी लोगों को बांटने की सोच है और ये समानता के अधिकार के खिलाफ है.
प्रस्ताव में एनसीआर और एनपीआर को लेकर लोगों के शक और दुविधाएं हैं, उन्हें दूर करके ही इन्हें पारित किया जाए. सीएए में भी बदलाव किया जाना चाहिए.
मोहिंद्रा ने कहा, ‘संसद द्वारा बनाए गए नागरिकता संशोधन कानून के खिलाफ देशभर में गुस्सा है और इसका विरोध हुआ है. पंजाब में भी इस कानून के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन हुआ है जो शांतिपूर्ण रहा.’
