Kejriwal’s Trust pockets anti-corruption funds

In a fresh blow to the ‘incorruptible’, ‘apolitical’ Team Anna, Swami Agnivesh has alleged that Arvind Kejriwal, has siphoned off a whopping Rs 70 lakh to his trust Public Cause Research Foundation (PCRF).

Agnivesh had told Pratirodh earlier last month that all the funds have been coming to Kejriwal’s trust as India Against Corruption, as the anti-corruption coalition is popularly known, had no bank account.
After the Ramlila Maidan show ended, Anna Hazare, stung by criticism, is said to have told Kejriwal and others to come clean about funding and also to declare it on the website by October 15. They are yet to do it.
Kejriwal’s NGO Kabir, of which Manish Sisodia is also a part, received some $400,000 from Ford Foundation under the heads of transparency and governance. There are speculations that this money too was used in funding the anti-corruption show. Interestingly, earlier this year when Team Anna declared funds and assets, this money was not shown in the accounts.
Meanwhile, other members of India against Corruption were also seen protesting at Jantar Mantar saying that Kejriwal has been acting as a tyrant and that all the funds have been received by his trust.
They were also demanding an independent audit of the accounts. Being seen as a representative of the middle class, there are also allegations of corporate money funding this Kejriwal’s campaign.
Interestingly, instead of coming out with bank details or a clarification, India against Corruption uploaded a photo on their facebook page with Kejriwal sleeping on the railway platform.
