CCD founder Siddhartha goes missing, search on

Cafe Coffee Day founder V.G. Siddhartha has gone missing after being last seen on Monday near a bridge in Karnataka’s Mangaluru Rescue teams are conducting a search for the missing son-in-law of former Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna.

A letter addressed to “Board of Directors and Coffee day family,” accessed by ANI mentions of harassment by Income Tax officials. Police have confirmed the authenticity of the letter. The letter dated July 27 blames the Income Tax authority for harassment.

Coast Guard and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have also joined the search operation near the Netravati river in Mangaluru. While requesting to continue running the business, Siddhartha wrote of financial woes.

According to the reports, Siddhartha was on phone when he suddenly asked his driver to stop the car near the Netravati river and got down. The former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy also blamed the I-T authorities for alleged harassment of the entrepreneur.
