Muslim group opposes Anna\’s fast

A top description of Muslims has come forward to oppose the fast of Anna Hazare for a strong Lokpal bill from Tuesday stating that it will help communal forces.
The Maharashtra unit unit General Secretary of Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, Maulana Hhalimullah Quasmi, says although his group is against corruption but they are opposing Gandhian\\\’s agitation as his team is working at the behest of RSS and other communal forces.
"We have experienced in the past that whenever such an agitation is carried out against secular government, communal forces get into power," he said.
The Congress-led UPA Government is seriously making efforts to address problems of minorities, especially Muslims. Hence, such agitations will weaken the Government and help communal forces, Quasmi said.
Hazare\\\’s agitation was a conspiracy to strengthen communal forces, he alleged.
Meanwhile, another organisation, All India Ulema Council, said it will make its stand clear on Hazare\\\’s agitation later in the day.
Representatives of both organisations were present at Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal\\\’s meeting with Muslim organisations on Monday.
On the other hand, political leaders have termed Anna\\\’s protest as premature.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan said Anna Hazare should refrain from putting undue pressure on the Parliament. Any decision on Lokpal should not be taken in a haste and Anna should wait at least for the debate in the House.
Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi has warned that if basic principles were incorrectly applied, a Lokpal can potentially destabilize the nation.
He further said that one day, the Lokpal may become a tool in the hands of corporate houses to blackmail the political leadership.
“I am for a Lokpal bill, but it should be reasonable,” the minister added.
