‘PM Modi Bowed To Trump, Stopped Op Sindoor Within 5 Hours’

On Wednesday, August 27, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of capitulating to pressure from the United States. Speaking at a rally in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, as part of the state-wide Voter Adhikar Yatra, Gandhi claimed that Modi halted military action against Pakistan “within five hours” of receiving a directive from former President Donald Trump.

Gandhi referenced a viral video of Trump during a White House cabinet meeting, stating, “Trump said he gave Modi 24 hours, but Modi obeyed in just five.” This assertion highlights Gandhi’s contention that Modi’s decisions are unduly influenced by foreign powers, particularly the U.S. While Trump has often taken credit for easing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Modi government has consistently denied any U.S. mediation, asserting that the ceasefire was achieved through direct communication between Indian and Pakistani military officials.

In his address, Gandhi also took aim at the media, claiming, “They won’t show you Trump’s statement. They only serve Modi and his corporate friends, not leaders like me, Stalin or Tejashwi.” The Congress leader escalated his criticism of the Election Commission (EC), accusing it of facilitating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “vote theft.” He alleged that the BJP’s so-called “Gujarat model” is built on “vote chori” (stealing of votes), asserting, “Modi and Shah win elections not through people’s mandate, but by manipulating votes with the EC’s help.” This accusation reflects a broader concern among opposition parties regarding the integrity of the electoral process in India.

Gandhi specifically addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Bihar’s draft electoral rolls, where he claimed that the deletion of 65 lakh names—marked as “dead,” “shifted,” or “absent”—was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise marginalized communities. “Thousands of people are telling us their names have been wrongly struck off. Many living citizens are being declared dead,” he stated. He further alleged that the EC is targeting Dalits, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs), and minorities, claiming, “The BJP does not want their voices heard.”

At the rally, Gandhi was joined by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who is the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate, along with allies M.K. Stalin and Kanimozhi from the DMK, and Dipankar Bhattacharya of the CPI(M-L) Liberation. Together, they vowed to continue exposing alleged electoral manipulation. “I have already shown proof of vote theft. In the coming days, I will bring out more,” Gandhi declared, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and accountability in the electoral process.

The Voter Adhikar Yatra, which aims to highlight irregularities in the electoral rolls, is set to continue for three more days across Bihar, culminating in Patna on September 1. This initiative reflects the opposition’s strategy to mobilize support and raise awareness about electoral issues as they prepare for upcoming elections. Through this campaign, Gandhi and his allies seek to challenge the ruling party’s narrative and advocate for the rights of marginalized voters in India.
