Horrific abuse that Falak went through

A two-year-old baby girl was admitted to AIIMS trauma centre in Delhi on January 18 in a battered state with severe head injuries, fractures in her arms and human bite marks all over her description.

As per the doctors attending to her they are yet to come across this degree of abuse to such a small child.

"I have never seen such kind of battered baby condition with intention of injury", a doctor said. The doctors and care givers at the hospital gave her the name Falak, "the sky".
Its tough to realise that the toddler was subjected to such brutal torture by a fellow human.
She has a fractured skull and there is blood clotting on the right side of her brain – it appears that either her head was smashed against a wall or she suffered a blow from a heavy object.
Doctors say that the damage which has been caused to her brain by her asaulter can not be reversed.
Her left arm is fractured and there is swelling on her right arm, there are human bite marks on her cheeks, forehead and legs. Falak has also suffered two cardiac arrests.
After taking a look at her,  it appears she has been driven to this horrific state by a  beast but alas, it has been done by one of us.
Imagine the physical and mental pain she would have gone through. The baby who deserved  a loving upbringing like all other normal kids has seen it all in first two years of her life itself.
Doctors say there are very less chances of her survival and even if she survives whe will not be able to lead a normal and an independent life due to the severe damage caused to her brain.
Falak was brought to the hospital by a 15-year-old girl, who claims that the man, Rajkumar, whom she had been staying with had brought the baby a month back to be raised as their own child.
The teenaged girl, who was sent to a juvenile home by the police,  has told the Child Welfare Committee that she had eloped with Rajkumar a year back. She also said that Rajkumar had sexually abused her.
Following her statement , the Delhi police has sent a team to Mumbai to nab Rajkumar, now the key suspect in the case, as he originaly belongs to the Maharashtra capital.
Delhi police now believes that Rajkumar holds the key to the mystery. Police has also launched massive hunt to trace her biological parents.
This case has again surfaced the need of stringent law to check child abuse. With this, the government also needs to look into other aspects of law like strengthening victim protection and witness assistance.
