Chandu’s killing: AISA demands fresh probe

Fifteen years after the murder of former JNUSU chief president Chandrashekhar in Siwan district of Bihar, a Patna court on Friday awarded life imprisonment to the three convicts- Dhruv Jaiswal, Sheikh Munna and Iliyas Warsi.

However, AISA expressed discontent over the CBI not probing the political angle involved in the case.
"It is highly unfortunate that the CBI investigation has completely failed to acknowledge the political conspiracy behind the murder of Comrade Chandrashekhar and CPI(ML) activist Comrade Shyam Narain Yadav. The CBI investigation failed to nail the role of the main conspirator, former RJD MP Shahabuddin,” said AISA national general secretary Ravi Rai.
AISA has called for a nationwide protest on March 31 demanding reopening of this case and probe the role of main conspirator former RJD MP Shahabuddin.
Mr Rai said, why did CBI not even chargesheet Shahabuddin in the Chandrashekhar murder case,  given the fact that the shooters were known to be Shahabuddin\\\’s goons?
Comrade Chandrashekhar was shot dead in the streets of Siwan on March 31st1997 – his murder was clearly a reaction to the growing people’s assertion under the banner of CPI(ML) against the feudal forces in Bihar, he added.
Recently, another young CPI(ML) leader, Comrade Bhaiyaram Yadav, was shot dead by criminals enjoying patronage of ruling politicians.
Comrade Chandrashekhar was killed in Laloo Prasad\\\’s regime at the behest of Shahabuddin, and now, in Nitish\\\’s regime, Comrade Bhaiyyaram has been killed by BJP-JD(U)\\\’s goons.
Mr Rai further said that, AISA demand that the CBI reopen the case, in order to investigate the political conspiracy behind the murder of Comrade Chandu.
"On March 31 this year, AISA will be holding nation-wide protests with this demand. In Delhi, AISA will hold a protest at Jantar Mantar”, added Ravi Rai.
